Greater McHenry Area Responsibilities + Operate manual and automated saws to cut metal bar, tube, plate, and structural material according to work orders and specifications. + Monitor cutting operations continuously to ensure accuracy, proper surface finish, and dimensional compliance. + Perform in-process and final inspections using go/no-go gages, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify quality. + Bundle finished material securely and place bundles on pallets using a forklift for safe storage or shipment. + Build pallets when needed to support efficient material handling and staging. + Record production data, inspection results, and material usage accurately in logs or digital systems. + Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment requirements, and safe material-handling practices. + Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move heavy metal products safely throughout the facility. + Collaborate with supervisors, quality inspectors, and material handlers to maintain workflow and resolve issues quickly. + Maintain a clean and organized work area in a heavy industrial, metals-focused environment. Essential Skills + Proven experience operating forklifts in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. + Machine operating experience in a production or metals manufacturing setting. + Comfort working in a metals environment, including exposure to heat, noise, and heavy materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodstock, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00
- $24.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
