Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented experienced Machine Operator to join our dynamic team at our Mellott, IN location. We are seeking an individual to operate a manual lathe machine and a manual mill. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of machinery, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of machine operation, quality control, and safety protocols within a factory setting. If you have experience with machines and a solid grasp of technical drawings we encourage you to apply. Hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with the potential for overtime. Responsibilities Operate and monitor machines to produce high-quality components. Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometers to ensure precise measurements. Interpret technical drawings and specifications. Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain production flow. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations. Ability to stand, bend and lift significant weight for significant portions of the day. Read gauges such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauge, and tape measure. Skills Proficiency in operating machinery. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings. Strong understanding of GD&T principles for quality assurance. Experience using hand tools and measuring devices like micrometers. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and tape measures (will be tested).
