Job Title:
Machine Operator / Production Operator Job Description The Production Operator safely operates and maintains production machinery to meet strict quality, efficiency, and safety goals. You work in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment, following standardized procedures while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork. Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery safely and efficiently in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Follow standardized work instructions, procedures, and safety regulations at all times. Inspect equipment regularly and perform routine Total Quality Maintenance (TQM) checks to prevent downtime and ensure reliability. Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other hand tools to verify they meet quality specifications. Perform quality assurance, quality control, and quality inspection activities on parts and assemblies. Support general production and assembly line operations, including machine operation, general labor, and assembly tasks as needed. Identify and promptly report mechanical, safety, or production issues to the appropriate personnel. Track hourly production results accurately and communicate equipment status and performance to supervisors. Assist with the operation of CNC machines, press brakes, lasers, and related production equipment as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Essential Skills Proven ability to operate production and manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently. Experience with machine operation in a production, general production, or assembly line environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in every task. Ability to follow standardized procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines consistently. Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to recognize and address equipment or process issues. Ability to perform quality assurance, quality control, and quality inspection tasks. Proficiency using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and hand tools. Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. High school diploma or GED. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly, including lifting to chest height when required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC machines, including setup or operation, is beneficial. Familiarity with press brake and laser equipment in a manufacturing environment is an advantage. automotive or precision machining production environments is helpful. Experience performing Total Quality Maintenance (TQM) checks or similar preventive maintenance routines. Comfort working with general labor and assembly tasks in addition to machine operation. Work Environment You work in a clean, climate-controlled production facility focused on precision machining for the automotive industry. The site is a smaller, growing location that offers the opportunity to join at the ground floor and grow with the operation. You use production machinery such as CNC machines, press brakes, lasers, and a variety of measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and hand tools. The environment is structured yet collaborative, with clear procedures and standards guiding daily work. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Jeffersonville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40456.00 - $44000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
