Job Description The Machine Operator / Production Operator safely operates and maintains production machinery to meet strict quality, efficiency, and safety goals in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistent adherence to standardized procedures, and effective teamwork to uphold high manufacturing standards. Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery safely and efficiently according to established standards. Follow standardized work instructions, operating procedures, and all applicable safety regulations at all times. Inspect equipment regularly and perform routine Total Quality Maintenance (TQM) checks to ensure reliable operation. Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other hand tools to verify quality specifications. Perform quality assurance, quality control, and quality inspection activities on parts and assemblies. Identify mechanical, safety, or production issues promptly and report them to the appropriate personnel for resolution. Track hourly production results and accurately record performance data as required. Communicate equipment status, production concerns, and improvement ideas clearly to supervisors and team members. Support general production, assembly, and assembly line tasks as needed to meet production schedules. Handle and operate CNC machines, press brakes, lasers, and related equipment as trained and assigned. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety expectations. Lift and move materials and parts up to 35 pounds regularly, including to chest height when required. Essential Skills Demonstrated ability to operate production machinery safely and efficiently. Experience in machine operation or general production, including assembly and assembly line work. Ability to perform quality assurance, quality control, and quality inspection tasks accurately. Proficiency using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and hand tools. Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot simple mechanical issues. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to follow standardized work instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines consistently. Clear verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. High school diploma or GED. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and to chest height when required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC machines, including setup or operation, is beneficial. Familiarity with press brake and laser equipment in a production environment is an advantage. Experience in general labor or manufacturing environments, especially in automotive-related production, is helpful. Comfort working in a clean, climate-controlled production facility.
