Summary:
Assembles, installs, seals, rigs, and inspects precision structural and system components using drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements.
Functional tests and corrects fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.
Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, and verbal or electronic data.
Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments and functional tests.
Utilizes tooling to assemble components into sub-assemblies or end items.
Verifies work per work instructions and engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies per applicable procedures.
Performs routine minor machine maintenance including filter replacement, bulb changes, and lubrication or coolant level maintenance.
Sets up and operates conventional and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) fastening equipment of less than simultaneous 3-axis movement.
Performs one or more specialties: Assembly or Installation of Structures, Sealer, or Sub Assembly.
Performs one or more specialty skills: Assembly or Installation Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure and Vacuum testing.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
11+ years of related experience (minimum 10 years considered).
737 aircraft assembly or integration experience required.
Experience with fuselage integration for aircraft structures.
Experience with multilayer layup techniques for composite or metallic structures.
Ability to assemble, install, seal, rig, and inspect precision structural and system components.
Proficiency reading and interpreting prints, charts, sketches, and work instructions.
Ability to use shop mathematics and precision measuring or test instruments.
Experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC fastening equipment.
Skill in at least one specialty: Assembly/Installation of Structures, Sealer, Sub Assembly, Doors, Integral Fuel Cell Sealing, Precision Bench Assembly, or Pressure/Vacuum testing.
