Job Title:
Machine Operator I Job Description The Machine Operator I operates and monitors manufacturing equipment, inspects product quality, packages finished goods, and maintains a safe and efficient production environment. This entry-level production role supports the manufacturing process by ensuring products consistently meet quality standards and production goals while following established procedures and safety guidelines. Responsibilities Operate molding, packaging, and production equipment in accordance with established procedures and work instructions. Monitor equipment during operation to ensure consistent performance and product quality. Inspect finished products for defects and verify conformance to quality specifications and standards. Package, label, and prepare products for shipment and warehouse storage in an accurate and timely manner. Load and unload materials from production equipment safely and efficiently. Perform minor machine startups and shutdowns when trained and authorized. Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment issues within defined guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient production and safety compliance. Follow all company safety, quality, and production standards and procedures at all times. Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and safety hazards promptly to supervisors or designated personnel. Assist with inventory of packaging supplies and other production-related materials as needed. Support other general labor and production tasks as assigned to meet production schedules. Essential Skills Experience in general labor, production, or manufacturing environments. Ability to operate basic production and packaging machinery following established procedures. Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and address minor machine or process issues within scope of training. Understanding of plastic processes and how they relate to molding and production operations. Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices and safe machine operation when trained. Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints or production drawings as required for the role. Comfort using hand tools safely and effectively in a production setting. Strong attention to detail for inspecting products and ensuring conformance to specifications. Ability to follow safety, quality, and production standards consistently. Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, loading materials, and handling packaged products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in machine operation or machine operating roles in a manufacturing environment. Background in general production, packaging, or warehouse operations. Familiarity with production documentation, labels, and basic recordkeeping. Willingness to learn new equipment and processes through a structured training program. Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and communicate issues clearly to supervisors. You will work around molding, packaging, and production equipment and use hand tools as part of daily tasks. The facility follows established safety standards, including lockout/tagout practices where applicable. The production floor emphasizes cleanliness and order, supporting efficient operations and consistent product quality. Specific work hours, shifts, and dress code will align with standard manufacturing practices and will be communicated during the hiring process. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Erlanger, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
