You work on cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, or other equipment. You have farm or agricultural equipment experience. You weld, fabricate, or work with metal. (BGM) is seeking an Advanced Machine Technician for off shifts (2nd: 2pm-10pm and 3rd: 10p-6a) Monday thru Friday work week! Little to no weekend schedule! About Blue Grass Metals... Blue Grass Metals (BGM) is a leading metal forming and assembly manufacturer in Independence, KY since 1990. We partner with top companies in the Automotive sector; like Toyota, GM, Ford, Tesla, Rivian, etc. We focus on analyzing cost-reduction opportunities while enhancing product offerings through agility and innovation. We are looking for an Advanced Operator who will also work and display these core values and join the BGM team!
Essential Functions:
a. Perform complex machine setups. Identify unsafe opportunities and make necessary corrections to alleviate any concern. b. Works closely with quality, maintenance and supervision to establish a root cause and corrective actions. c. Review with management if production rates are not being met and determine corrective actions. d. Helps and train others as needed for various events: new hire, meeting quota, special projects, etc. e. Assist in prototyping new parts by writing programs or working in new tools for future work. Makes the first attempt at repairing equipment that is down and helps others in their area to do the same. Assist maintenance in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of equipment. f. Performs light to more complicated repairs on machines as needed. g. Assist with establishing and improving training documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
h. Effective communicator; clear, concise, and consistent. i. High level of mechanical and technical ability. Skilled in the use of various tools and able to setup new parts within quality guidelines using only prints to interpret and measuring equipment. Understanding and skilled in the use of various tool room machines and equipment to maintain tools and equipment. j. Must have skills or ability to be trained to manipulate and set up CNC or Mechanical equipment to produce parts in a high output production environment. Ability to safely operate or be trained to operate cranes and material handling equipment. Ability to be trained and train others to perform high level machine programming or set up. k. Ability to be trained and train others to perform high level machine programming or set up. l. Experience:
m. Spatial Relations Aptitude (visualization and manipulation of objects in space, when rotated, folded or flipped). n. Mechanical Aptitude (repair tooling & equipment, various tool knowledge, setup new parts). o. Troubleshooting (diagnose issues and problems). p. Writes, improves, maintains programs or tooling. q. Basic Math & Computer Skills. r. Blueprint Reading. s. Usage of calipers, metric system, radius gages, check fixtures (preferred). t. Fanuc Robot experience (preferred).
