Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining an automated screw machine to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machine operations, strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain automated screw machines to meet production requirements. Load raw materials into machines and unload finished products. Set up machines according to production specifications and blueprints. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, coolant checks, and basic repairs. Monitor machine performance and address any operational issues. Assist with general shop duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and packing. Move raw materials and finished goods within the facility as needed. Ensure machines continue to run smoothly during breaks and downtime. Required Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in machine operation and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints. Proficiency in using hand tools and performing mechanical tasks. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass a math and mechanical aptitude test. Preferred Qualifications Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and operational principles. Experience working with automated or screw machines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Environment Manufacturing/production floor setting. Requires standing for extended periods and handling materials. May involve moderate physical activity, including lifting and moving materials. . Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
