Job Description
Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and skilled Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining automated screw machines, ensuring efficient production while meeting quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate automated screw machines according to production requirements. Load raw materials and unload finished products from machines. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed. Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report complex problems to supervisors. Perform routine maintenance, including checking oil levels, coolant systems, and machine functionality. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. Assist with cleaning equipment, packing products, and moving materials throughout the facility. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and production procedures. Qualifications Previous experience operating and maintaining manufacturing machinery required. Experience with automated screw machines preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools. High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to pass math and mechanical aptitude assessments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required. Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and machinery. Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment. Work Environment Manufacturing and production floor setting. Fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity. Requires frequent standing, lifting, and material handling. Opportunities to expand machining and manufacturing skills. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
