Edgestone Staffing is hiring Platers and Market 1st /2ndShift in Billerica, MA Join our innovative team as a Platers and Masker, where you will play a vital role in the manufacturing of precision optical components. This position offers an exciting opportunity Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Plater to join our manufacturing team. The Plater will be responsible for applying metal coatings to various components, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of plating processes and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Position Requirements & Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications: 1 to 2 years as plating / anodizing assistant, preferred. Effective communication skills. Safety training, ability to work to high reliability requirements. Knowledge of Nadcap requirements. Ability to work daily with production needs. Working knowledge of Mil-Specs. Be able to read blueprints and determine the requirements as they relate to the specifications for the finish being called out. Be able to relate the base material to the appropriate cleaning processes. Ability to understand the safe use of the chemicals involved and the Ability to use and determine the current densities based on being able to calculate surface area on the work pieces. Working knowledge of temperatures and agitation needs of all processing tanks. The skill to use both micrometers and X-Ray fluorescence machines to determine thickness. The knowledge of how to strip a finish from a base material without damaging the base material. An understanding of masking and how it relates to plating Must be able to calculate surface area and how the current density will relate to the workload and verify first article to plan the balance of work to be processed
