Chainsaw Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Chainsaw Operator to join our lumber manufacturing team on first shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating chainsaws and related equipment to cut, trim, and process logs in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.
Pay:
$26/27/hr + overtime available
Shift:
First (1st) shift: 6:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday Responsibilities Operate chainsaws and cutting equipment to process logs into usable lumber products. Perform trimming, cutting, and shaping of wood materials according to production specifications. Inspect logs and materials for defects and determine appropriate cutting techniques to ensure consistent production output while meeting quality standards. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct routine maintenance on chainsaws, including sharpening and fueling. Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient workflow. Essential Skills Saw operation Chainsaws Bandsaw Blueprint reading Carpentry Power tool usage Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience operating chainsaws in a lumber, forestry, or industrial setting preferred. Strong understanding of safe chainsaw operation and handling. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, bending for extended periods). Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
