Responsibilities:
Set up and operate centerless grinding machines (reduces diameter of long lengths of tubing). This is a job which requires loading long lengths into a machine and adjusting the grinding wheels at regular intervals. Hands get dirty with a water-based lube. Not a glamorous job but an important one. Set up and run tube forming machines---draw blocks. Load tube on to payoffs, feed into machine, run machine. Tie up coils and safely unload. Keep all coils tagged. Occasionally run straightener machines, including setting up inspection equipment. Adhere to quality requirements for each job. Keep a neat and organized workplace. Follow work order instructions and documentation procedures. It's a hands-on job, and you get dirty doing it, working with lubricants etc. No CNC here, all manual manipulation of machines
Qualifications:
Reliable, punctual, and hard working---be on time and ready to contribute each day. Your team must cover for you if you can't be relied upon. Professional and Positive Energy---Can-do, positive attitude is a non-negotiable quality. Figure out solutions, don't complain about problems. Superior attention to detail---sweat the small things, stay organized, be precise and have pride in your product. Think well on your feet---react quickly and identify priorities. Love a good challenge---growth from challenges = satisfaction in your career. Requires lifting of coils of tube periodically throughout the day, up to 50lbs unassisted and some coils larger occasionally (team lift) Eager to complete additional duties as needed. Clean background check. Must have reliable transportation and be available during all school breaks.
Compensation/ Benefits:
Positions are full time (45-50 hours a week, OT included if hourly, 10 paid holidays plus 16 additional PTO days and health insurance (60% premium paid by company)). Operating hours 6A-5P, we are flexible on starting time once you are trained. Start time is either 6a or 7a and end time is 2p or 3p, M-F 40 hours/week, overtime is possible. Occasional Saturdays optional. Starting pay $19-$21
