Job Description

Job Title:
1st Shift Coating Operator Job Description Join our team as a Coating Operator, where you will be an integral part of the foil-making process. This role involves working the third shift, focusing on maintaining quality and efficiency in the application of aluminum rolls of coated films using a vacuum metalizer. Responsibilities Load paper rolls onto the machine as part of the initial steps in the foil-making process. Maintain quality and efficiency during the operation of the vacuum metalizer. Clean, set up, and operate the metallizer according to scheduled sequences, process sheets, and work instructions. Perform quality inspections of end-of-roll samples. Record all necessary process and quality documentation accurately and timely. Package all materials upon completion of the process. Operate a forklift as needed. Conduct routine maintenance on machinery. Essential Skills Machine operating experience, preferably 1+ years. Safety-first mindset. Basic understanding of the paper industry. Ability to operate a forklift. Proficiency with computers and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of manufacturing experience is ideal. Experience with paper processing is preferred. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a manufacturing environment, standing for an 8-hour shift while training and collaborating with another machine operator in the foiling department. The work schedule includes various shifts: 1st shift from 7 AM to 3 PM, 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM, and 3rd shift from 11 PM to 7 AM. A shift differential of $1.25 is offered. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newburyport, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
