MACHINE OPERATOR

Overview:

As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for operating injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components according to production schedules and quality standards. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery, monitoring production processes, and maintaining product consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

Set up andoperateinjection molding machines, including loading raw materials, adjusting machine settings, andinitiatingproduction cycles. Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning, detect abnormalities, and address issues promptly. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols tomaintaina safe and efficient working environment.

Quality Control:

Conduct visual inspections of molded parts to verify conformity to specifications and quality standards. Monitor process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time, toidentifydeviations and make necessary adjustments. Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments, gauges, and testing equipment tovalidateproduct dimensions and characteristics.

Production Support:

Assistwith mold changes, material changes, and machine adjustments as needed tofacilitatesmooth production transitions. Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve technical issues. Communicate production status, equipment performance, and any deviations from production targets to supervisors and team members.

Documentation and Reporting:

Record production data, including production counts, scrap rates, downtime, and machine adjustments, accurately andin a timely manner. Complete production reports, log sheets, and quality documentation tomaintaintraceability and compliance with quality management systems. Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and quality concerns toappropriate personnelfortimelyresolution.

Housekeeping and Safety:

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machine surfaces, tooling, and surrounding areas, to ensure a safe and efficient production environment. Adhere to safety regulations, wearappropriate personalprotective equipment (PPE), and follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the identification and mitigation of workplace hazards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant vocational training preferred. Previousexperience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics injection molding. Familiarity with injection molding processes, equipment operation, and basic troubleshooting techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules. Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and precision. Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
