Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to set up and operate machines, ensuring the precise grinding and cutting of steel. This role involves reading industrial knife blueprints, performing quality checks, and completing Statistical Process Control Charts (SPCs). Responsibilities Set up machines and change tooling or saw blades to grind/cut steel. Use specialized saws or hand tools effectively. Utilize calipers and micrometers, understanding fractions and decimals. Read and interpret industrial knife blueprints. Perform quality checks and complete SPCs for all assignments. Load and unload steel from machines, maintain coolant levels, and empty swarf. Ensure general cleaning of machines and work area. Work with a high sense of urgency and follow all safety protocols. Provide support and training to others as needed. Actively participate in Lean and Safety Training. Cross-train to other positions as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Experience in machine operation and production. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure. Forklift Certification or ability to become certified. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to accurately input data into an ERP System. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and email. Strong troubleshooting skills. Capability to meet daily work requirements and customer demands. English proficiency in speaking and reading. Basic math skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Inn, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
