Full Job Description Description:
The Cartoner Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining cartoning equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality packaging of products. This role involves monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a food production and warehouse setting. The floor surface is concrete. The noise level is moderate with no vibration. Material movement takes place throughout the facility.
Physical Demands:
Hearing and speaking to exchange information. Able to lift 50 lbs., carrying, pushing or pulling moderately heavy objects as assigned by position. Dexterity of hands and fingers to position boxes, bags and equipment. Reaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontally. Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching. Ability to stand and walk for an entirety of a shift.
Competencies:
Machine Operation:
Proficiency in setting up, operating, and maintaining cartoning equipment.
Quality Control:
Ensuring that cartons are correctly filled, sealed, and labeled according to specifications while accurately maintaining records of production & machine performance and ensuring all cartons are correctly labeled and coded.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving issues with the cartoning machinery using problem-solving techniques to quickly adapt to changes that arise during the cartooning process.
Safety Compliance:
Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
Teamwork & Communication:
Reading and understanding written instructions and effectively communicating and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Core Responsibilities:
Following GMPs, OSHA Safety, and all other company procedures.
Machine Operation:
Set up, operate, and maintain cartoning equipment.
Quality Control:
Ensure cartons are correctly filled, sealed, and labeled according to specifications.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve issues with the cartoning machinery.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of production and machine performance.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
Cleanliness:
Keep the work area clean and organized. Attention to
Detail:
Ensure all cartons are correctly labeled and coded.
Monitoring:
Continuously monitor the machine's performance and product flow.
Communication:
Read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate with team members.
Teamwork:
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
Flexibility:
Adjust machine settings and processes as needed to accommodate different products and packaging requirements.
Problem-Solving:
Quickly adapt to changes and troubleshooting issues that arise during the cartoning process.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED preferred
