Job Description
Job Summary The Machine Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient receipt, storage, movement, distribution, and shipment of products, parts, and materials. This role operates a variety of heavy equipment and machinery to support production and material handling activities while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Principal Responsibilities Safely and proficiently operate assigned equipment and machinery, including but not limited to: Forklift, Knuckle Boom, Runaround, Wood Boiler Support Equipment, Prentice Support Equipment, Endplate Station Support Equipment, Trimmer Support Equipment Consistently meet or exceed established production and performance targets while maintaining quality and safety standards. Load, unload, transport, and store materials according to routing instructions, shipping documentation, and supervisor direction. Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports, identifying and communicating operational concerns or equipment issues as needed. Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic upkeep on assigned equipment to ensure safe and effective operation. Support supervisors and team members by proactively identifying opportunities to improve adherence to procedures, productivity, and workplace efficiency. Actively participate in and contribute to the company's safety programs, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
