Hillsdale, Michigan, United States Talascend is currently seeking a Industrial Sewer for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Hillsdale, Michigan. Overview The production assembler will be responsible for operating assembly equipment to assemble textile and other product parts, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met. They will work closely with supervisors to achieve department goals while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Responsibilities Assemble textile and other product parts by operating assembly equipment.
Responsible for cleanliness and basic maintenance of equipment and work area.
Inspect in-process and finished products to verify conformance using measurements, check fixtures, and gauges, according to quality control plans.
Meet or exceed production rate and efficiency standards.
Work closely with the production supervisor to accomplish department and company goals.
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
Perform production reporting functions using ERP system.
Operate assembly equipment such as industrial sewing machines, textile heat bonding equipment, automated sewing equipment, cold cut and heat cut equipment, and other assembly machinery.
Use hand tools including scissors, cutting knives, and tape guns.
Measure using English and metric systems and interpret process documents and work instructions.
Demonstrate core values, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Maintain self-motivation, multitask effectively, and respond to change positively.
Cross-train within the assembly department.
Comply with all external and internal policies and procedures.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Perform basic computer functions using the company ERP system.
Collaborate effectively in a team environment. Qualifications Ability to operate assembly equipment and hand tools.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Basic understanding of computers and ERP systems.
