Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Laser Operator -1, where you'll play a vital role in precision fabrication and metalworking processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize and further develop technical skills in laser cutting and machining while contributing to high-quality production. Duties Operate and control Amada Fiber Laser and Amada Co2 Laser Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate fabrication Perform routine inspections of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify quality standards Maintain machine calibration and troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime during production runs Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to manufacturing safety guideline Qualifications Basic math skills with the ability to read measurements and interpret technical drawings Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, or related machining processes is a plus but not required; training will be provided Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as plasma cutters, CNC mills, lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) is advantageous Experience with blueprint reading and quality inspection tools like micrometers and calipers is preferred but not required Ability to operate hand tools, sheet metal fabrication equipment, and tooling safely and efficiently Prior experience with forklift operation or crane handling is beneficial but not mandatory; certification can be provided during onboarding Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive approach to safety and quality standards
