Markman Peat Corp. is a manufacturer and bagger of soils, premium soils, decorative rock and mulch that sells to the lawn and garden Industry. Looking for a
DEPENDABLE
full-time Machine Line Operator at our Davenport, IA plant, hours will be 3:30 pm to 2:00 am Monday - Thursday with the occasional overtime on Friday during our busy season when needed. Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season and must have dependable transportation. Paid weekly with employer partial paid benefits available after 60 days. Attendance is key, if you can't work ALL hours & don't have reliable transportation please don't apply.GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Machine Line Operator will oversee a designated bagger. Be able to keep the machine running efficiently and keep the machine well maintained.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares machine for production
- Responsible for regulating machine
- Resolve production problems
- Ensure operation of equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
- Monitor weights of bags every hour to ensure correct weight.
- Make sure feeding tube is in right position before filling hoppers
- Clean up junk bags while machine is running
- Maintain a clean work area free of debris, junk bags, excessive product.
- Monitor wrapper to ensure everything is working properly
- Watch belts make sure tracking properly
- Minor repairs on machine
- Accurate pallet counts
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; understand and promote a safe work environment
- General clean up
- Other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; understand and promote a safe work environment
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to bend, lift up to 50 lbs. walk, turn, pivot and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to be on your feet 10 hours a day in a variety of temperatures
- Able to work 4 - 10-hour days with occasional overtime
- Ability to be flexible in work performed and scheduled
- To read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instruction
