Job Description

The Bindery Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining bindery and finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This role ensures printed jobs are cut, folded, bound, stitched, and finished accurately according to production specifications, deadlines, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and adjust bindery equipment such as cutters, folders, stitchers, binders, and laminators Read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and production specifications Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet established standards Monitor machine performance and adjust ensure efficient operation Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on bindery equipment Maintain accurate production records and report issues to supervisors Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Coordinate with press operators, supervisors, and other production staff to meet deadlines Handle materials safely and efficiently to minimize waste and damage Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous bindery, print finishing, or manufacturing experience preferred Knowledge of bindery machinery and finishing processes Ability to read measuring devices (rulers, calipers) and follow written instructions Strong attention to detail and quality Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move materials Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment Skills & Competencies Time management and ability to meet production deadlines Teamwork and communication skills Adaptability and willingness to learn new equipment or processes Commitment to workplace safety and quality control
