Machine Operator

Michigan Seamless Tube has been manufacturing cold drawn seamless steel tubing in South Lyon since 1927. We are currently looking to add several motivated individuals to our manufacturing team. We offer a starting wage of $23.33/hr with most of our operators making $26.53/hr, once fully qualified. We have a comprehensive benefits package that includes pension, 401K, PTO, bonus/profit sharing and Healthcare benefits. This is a steel mill environment. Hot in summer, cold in winter. Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Safety Footwear and Hearing Protection must be worn. The majority of our positions are afternoon shift (3-11PM). However, the training for the positions occurs on days and normally lasts several weeks. Overtime is frequent, which could be 10-12 hour days and/or Saturday work. We do not schedule manufacturing operations to run on Sundays! Open positions include Overhead Crane Operator, Hot Mill Piercer Operator, Cold Draw Bench Operator and other machine operator positions. Candidates who have proved successful in our facility possess high safety standards/awareness, excellent attendance, a desire to learn, ability to read a tape measure and works well with others.
