WHAT YOU WILL DO
This position requires the tasks to set-up, operate and adjust OD/ID grinding machine to grind the inner and outer diameters of parts to a determined dimension. Performs set-up, operation and adjusting of machine. Ability to perform work to set-up sheet or customer print and/or specifications. Verify machine setup by inspecting and verifying product characteristic are within tolerance per the part print specifications. This is done on the 1st piece and throughout the process run using the appropriate measuring device suitable for the required tolerance. Select, dress and mount grinding wheel according to specifications using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures. Inspect, feel and measure workpieces to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications. May be required to set up and operate measuring devices. Monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary, stopping machine when problems occur. Assist and train others, as needed. Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Operate power tools and other machinery while following strict safety guidelines. Perform other duties as required. Requirements:
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or
GED. 2-5
years of grinding experience, preferred. Knowledge of basic hand tools. Ability to read blueprints. Attention to detail. Visual acuity for detailed work. Must be able to lift 40 pounds unassisted. Must be able to stand throughout the entire shift.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Must follow designated safety rules and regulations.
Manufacturing environment:
may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dirt, dust and solvents. Must be able to work extended hours (including weekends) as necessitated by production requirements.
Compensation:
$21 - $28/hour
