Skills That Get You Hired High school diploma or GED 0-6 months of machining or manufacturing experience required Ability to read tape measures and perform basic math calculations Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to learn blueprint reading and precision measurement techniques Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn On the Job Operate and assist with production machinery and equipment Perform quality checks and report production counts accurately Identify machining or equipment issues and notify leadership when needed Read and follow setup sheets, work instructions, and safety procedures Deburr metal parts and assist with finishing processes Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Support multiple departments including machining, welding, and spinning operations Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges after training Follow lockout/tagout, forklift, and hoist safety procedures
