Job Description

Job Summary:
The CNC Cutting Room Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the CNC cutting machines to create/cut parts from material (fabric). Perform accurate, high-quality cutting of materials in line with production specifications and schedules. Training new employees and cross-training other employees is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CNC cutting machines and computers to ensure they are set up correctly for each job.
Based on work order/purchase order:
Load and set up fabric. Select and run the correct nests based on the cutting machine. Observe CNC machines during operation and adjust as needed. Perform quality control on cut parts to identify any flaws. Stack cut fabric neatly, in the approved manner. Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and oiling of machines, and change blades as needed. Perform maintenance outside of normal shift hours in special circumstances. Deliver cut fabric to sewing stations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Perform all work with attention to quality, detail, and durability expected for a premium shop. Work with design teams to interpret specifications and requirements. Stay current with industry materials, tools, and techniques. Train new hires on skills and responsibilities. General light cleaning, when necessary, applies to all the roles at Canvasworks Inc. Other duties throughout the shop as needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills:
Locate files in folders, saving and deleting files, etc. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills, especially as it relates to communicating questions or problems with assigned jobs or expected work. Proficient use of a tape measure and other measuring tools Ability to read and interpret measurements, templates, and blueprints. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical qualifications/skills include the ability to: Lift a minimum of 30+ lbs to maneuver rolls of fabric materials and equipment. Stand, bend, and work on hands-on tasks for extended periods. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
