Saw Operator

Job Summary Northern Valley Machine is looking for a dependable Saw Operator to join our team. The Saw Operator is responsible for the critical first step of our production: cutting various materials to precision specifications using a variety of saws.

Core Responsibilities Saw Operation:

Set up and operate various saws to cut different materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) using appropriate methods for each job.

Setup & Fixturing:

Position and secure materials using guides, stops, holding blocks, and other fixtures to ensure accurate cuts.

Blueprint & Cut List Reading:

Interpret material cut lists and read dimensions to ensure parts are cut to the correct length and specification.

Quality Inspection:

Use measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.) to verify the accuracy of cut pieces against requirements.

Material Handling:

Organize and inventory raw material stock; operate a forklift safely to move materials throughout the shop.

Maintenance:

Maintain a clean and orderly saw area and perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.

Qualifications Experience:

Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.

Technical Skills:

Ability to read blueprints and proficiency with precision measuring tools.

Certifications:

Forklift experience is a plus; we will provide training and certification if needed.

From $20.00 per hour
