Job Title:
Packager/Operator Job Description In this position, you will work collaboratively with a team of 2-5 others on a Roll Forming machine to efficiently package finished materials such as metal shingles, siding, and gutters. Each machine is managed by one Machine Operator II, and you will join a dynamic group of Packagers (Machine Operator I) to ensure each product is visually quality checked for manufacturing defects. Responsibilities Work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to detail. Perform tasks such as making boxes, packaging, palletizing, and moving products. Utilize power tools, including drills, staple guns, and other pneumatic tools. Learn to operate several machines and collaborate with different teams daily. Conduct visual quality checks to ensure no manufacturing defects. Essential Skills Packaging and production experience. Strong attention to detail. Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment. Ability to work well with others. Machine operating skills. Quality checking expertise. Additional Skills & Qualifications 6+ months in manufacturing/production environment. Mechanically inclined with hand and power tool experience. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations. Proficiency in reading and understanding tape measures and calculators. Bilingual in Spanish and English is advantageous. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is set in an industrial manufacturing environment that can be warm and loud due to running machines. You must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working with moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat. The environment is not temperature controlled, and doors may be open during the summer. Proper PPE and safety training will be provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
