Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description This entry-level role involves operating metal stamping machines in a large, air-conditioned metal manufacturing shop. You will work hands-on with sheet metal, perform basic visual inspections of parts, and support other departments as needed. The position requires comfort working around larger industrial machines, consistent lifting, and standing throughout the shift while following all safety procedures. Responsibilities Operate metal stamping machines safely and efficiently according to established procedures. Handle sheet metal components throughout the production process. Perform basic visual quality checks on stamped parts to ensure they meet specifications. Monitor machines during operation and promptly report any issues or irregularities. Follow all safety instructions and use required safety equipment at all times. Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Stand for the duration of the shift while operating machines and performing inspections. Assist in other departments and support various production tasks as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations. Essential Skills Comfort working around large industrial machines and metal stamping equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Ability to bend, twist, reach, and stand for the duration of the shift. Basic mechanical aptitude to operate machines and follow operating procedures. Attention to detail to perform visual inspections and identify defects in parts. Ability to follow all safety instructions and adhere to safety protocols. Willingness to work in an entry-level machine operator role and learn on the job. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous machine operating experience is preferred but not required. Experience working with sheet metal, assembly, or inspection is a plus. Interest in learning machine setups and programming over time. Flexibility to assist in multiple departments as production needs change. You will work four-day work weeks on the production floor, standing for most of the shift while operating machines and performing inspections. The facility includes onsite gym and workout facilities, including a basketball court, and allows employees to listen to music while working, contributing to a comfortable and engaging atmosphere. Dress will align with a manufacturing setting, including appropriate work attire and any required safety gear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maple Lake, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
