Job Description A Laser Nesting Software Technician is responsible for the following duties:

Nesting Optimization:

Utilize specialized software (such as Dr. Abe, Abe Planner and ProNest) to lay out part geometries on raw metal sheets.

Programming:

Translate engineering blueprints and CAD files into operational CNC programs for the laser machine.

Material Management:

Keep track of material yields, efficiently group different-sized parts, and manage leftover scrap and raw material inventory.

Quality :

Ensure job orders are completed on schedule and production meets quality standards.

Collaboration:

Work with floor operators, team lead, and engineers to prioritize jobs and resolve manufacturing issues.

Material Knowledge:

Understanding of different material types (steel, aluminum, etc.), and thicknesses

Preventive Maintenance:

Perform daily preventative maintenance and maintain housekeeping standards. Other duties as assigned

Compensation:

The starting pay range for this position is $18-$22 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.
