Job Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with global operations in 6 countries and serves customers in almost 60 countries. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington (USA), Trident employs approximately 7,700 people worldwide each year and partners with over 2,700 independent fishermen and crewmembers in Alaska. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.
Summary:
The Tiromat Operator will set up, adjust and operate the machines that perform the packaging functions of weighing, marking, labeling, packing, or sealing containers by performing the following duties:
Essential Functions:
Prepares and starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine. Alerts maintenance of breakdowns and mechanical problems Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as changing film or dies, calibrating scales, adjusting guides, setting metal detector, or clearing away damaged product containers. Notifies Quality Assurance of any packaged product that may not meet the required Critical Control Points. Weigh packages manually per company specifications. Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product. Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged with proper seal and date according to company specifications. Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels. Mounts supply on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices. Keeps equipment and area clean in accordance with company specifications. Records production information per company specifications. Dismantles and cleans equipment according to standard sanitation procedures then reassembles it. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Travel/On-Call Requirements:
not required for this position This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $23.12-$27.04 per hour. Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Preferred Education & Experiences:
Six months food manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of production processes, food safety and quality controls typically required in a food manufacturing environment. Ability to interpret simple written instructions and follow established procedures. Ability to work independently and collaborate with coworkers. Ability to use hand tools to set up and adjust equipment.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and humid conditions, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Will be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.
Work Ability Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or grasp items and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
