Saw Operator - 2nd shift $18-22/hr Job Description This role operates a large outdoor industrial saw to cut wood and lumber according to precise measurements while supporting continuous production on an evening shift schedule. You will handle material loading, perform accurate measurements, and ensure safe and efficient operation of saws and related equipment in a physically demanding, outdoor lumber yard environment. Responsibilities Operate a large outdoor industrial saw to cut wood and lumber to specified sizes and dimensions. Load and unload lumber and other materials onto the saw and related equipment safely and efficiently. Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure cuts meet required specifications and tolerances. Monitor machine operation and production flow, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency. Perform general labor tasks in support of production, including staging materials, organizing work areas, and assisting with line operations. Use hand tools and power tools safely to prepare, handle, and process lumber and related materials. Inspect materials and finished pieces for defects, accuracy, and quality, and take corrective action when necessary. Follow established safety procedures and wear required protective equipment while operating saws and working in the lumber yard. Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and checks on saws and related equipment to keep them in good working condition. Work the scheduled shift of 3:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and maintain reliable attendance. Essential Skills Experience as a general laborer in an industrial, construction, or production environment. Hands-on experience as a machine operator, preferably with saws or similar cutting equipment. Ability to operate industrial saws safely, including bandsaws and other wood-cutting machinery. Proficiency using a tape measure to take accurate measurements for cutting lumber. Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a production or construction setting. Capability to perform heavy lifting and sustain physically demanding work throughout the shift. Attention to detail when measuring, cutting, and inspecting wood and lumber. Ability to follow safety procedures and production instructions consistently. Why Work Here?
