Full Job Description General Purpose:
The Blend Operator is responsible for following all DFA Ingredient Solutions GMP's and working in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, and quality and sanitation requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Weighs each ingredient and add to the batch Ensures the product is ready to dry Carries out all QA checks in the mix room Operates the pH meter, refractometer, etc. to keep product within specifications Performs necessary routine cleaning and preventive maintenance Follows established plant operating and cleaning procedures Follows Good Manufacturing Practices Assists with safety analysis and on the job training of new employees Attends educational training seminars as needed (i.e. loss control) Attends and participates in safety meetings Reports unsafe acts, conditions, and accidents immediately to supervisor Assists in accident investigations Covers vacations and overtime as needed or required Assists with duties in other departments as needed Performs other work as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic computer skills Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and job safety analysis Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage Performs work independently, as required Knowledge with machines, tools, equipment, and lockout tagout Must be able to read, write and speak
