The position must also monitor the machine s (extruder, cooling tank, puller, saw, and secondary equipment) and a djust as needed to ensure optimal performance and product quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Start up and sh ut down an extrusion line. Run an extrusion line and maintain quality and productivity with the help o f the extrusion technician where needed. Perform tooling changeovers on the extrusion line where needed. Perform first - piece inspections and monitor production output to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. Mak e adjustments to keep the product within specification and notify the? e xtrusion t echnician of problems. Complete all documentation relat ed to extruder and the extrusion line . Perform preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment to ensure optimal performance. Handle and manage raw materials, including ex trusion resin , ensuring th e correct material is used and that it is proper ly fed into the extruder . Move and stack materials and move tooling in the plant. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns. Assist in other duties as required .

Required Skills/Abilities:

Good verbal communication skills. Ability to use precision measuring equipment and mechanical equipment and tools. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measuring and adjusting machine parameters. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. P roblem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Ability to work well independently and in a team.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in plastic extrusion is a plus. 1 year of experience as a n Extrusion Operator or 1 year of rel ated work experience . An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Forklift certification required or ability to become forklift certified within 2 months of hire. K nowledge of p lastic e xtrusion materials, processes, and machine operation is a plus . Knowledge of MS Office Applications. Understand all applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
