4-10s; Eve M-TH 6:00PM-4:30AM, Weekend Days TH-SU 6:00AM-4:30PM or F-M 6:00AM-4:30PM (shift assignment based on availability)

Focus:
The Machine Operator is responsible for performing mechanical adjustments and repairs to production equipment, and operating gas or electric furnaces to anneal cartridge cases.
Machine Operator Essential Job Functions:
Make necessary adjustments such as turning valves, switches, moving and setting controls, furnaces, and pumps. Maintain proper concentration of acid, soap, and lubricant solutions. Operate overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, flat beds, and tractors. Perform root cause analysis for production, quality and safety issues.
Machine Operator Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to read and interpret detailed prints, schematics, and layouts. Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calibrated steel tapes, calipers, power and non-power hand tools. Must have mechanical equipment experience. Experience operating overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, flat beds, and tractors preferred. Experience troubleshooting automation equipment preferred. Must have full vision, including color vision. Ability to handle exposure to extreme temperatures. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, push up to 800 pounds with equipment assistance, reach overhead, repeated twist and bend at waist, climb ladders and stairs. Ability and willingness to work weekends, including overtime. Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license.
Location-Specific Requirements:
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required. This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
