Laborer

This position is for both the shop and fieldwork. While in the shop the Laborer is responsible for assisting the welders in the fabrication and welding of metal parts. Gathering supplies, cutting and shaping material, helping move items, and cleaning are all part of the day-to-day tasks in the shop. In the field the laborer will be installing fence posts, panels, and wire. A great laborer will need to think quickly on their feet, and juggle multiple tasks at the same time. This is an at will position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist welders in the fabrication and welding of metal parts Operate various equipment, such as welding machines, grinders, and saws Prepare materials for welding, such as cutting, grinding, and cleaning Assist with maintain tools and equipment Clean the shop, sweeping, organizing, putting things away Installing fence panels and wire fencing when in the field Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail Ability to follow complex instructions Independent and self starter, always looking for something to do Ability to follow safety procedures Ability to read a tape measure and calculate measurements Can lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day Ability to be on feet all day

Working Conditions:

The work environment is typically noisy and dusty. The work hours are typically 8-9 hours per day, 5 days per week. •
