Job Description

Position Summary The Post-Harvest Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and upkeep of all post-harvest processing equipment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, throughput, and consistency by ensuring machinery is running properly, downtime is minimized, and issues are resolved quickly and effectively. Key Responsibilities Harvest Set up and configure the Outlaw system with all required harvest, batch, and plant information prior to harvest activities. Weigh each harvested plant using Outlaw Harvest Technology and verify all plant weight data is entered and recorded accurately within the system. Monitor harvest records for accuracy and completeness throughout the harvest process. Keep the Outlaw Harvest System clean, organized, and free of excess cannabis residue, leaf material, and debris. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and operational documentation Work closely with post-harvest and cultivation teams to ensure workflow efficiency and production goals are met Ensure all harvest information is properly documented and maintained. Post Harvest Operate post-harvest equipment including bucking machines, trimming machines (Mobius, Triminator), sorting machines, grinders/mulchers, and other related machinery o Set up, calibrate, and adjust equipment to optimize performance and product quality o Monitor machine operation and product output, making real-time adjustments as needed o Work with a small team to optimize bucking, trimming, sorting, and quality control processes using machinery o Operate and maintain Plant Muncher mulching system to compliantly dispose of cannabis waste. Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of all equipment in accordance with company SOPs and compliance standards Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues; identify root causes and implement solutions o Coordinate with equipment manufacturers/vendors for technical support and advanced troubleshooting o Diagnose equipment failures and source replacement parts, including ordering and tracking as needed o Monitor moisture content of batches to ensure they are compatible with machinery Collect data daily to assess equipment efficiency and effectiveness and to ensure throughput goals and product quality standards are being met Conduct quality control on batches running through machinery to identify potential product issues Ensure compliance with all safety, state regulatory, and company standards Qualifications 1-3+ years experience operating industrial or agricultural processing equipment (cannabis experience preferred but not required) Hands-on experience with trimming or bucking equipment (Mobius, Triminator, or similar) strongly preferred Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs Experience working with vendors or technical support teams is a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Basic computer skills for logging maintenance and tracking parts Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs Comfortable working around machinery, noise, and plant material Work Environment Production-focused environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and cannabis plant material Must adhere to all PPE and safety requirements
