Job Description

Summary/Objective The Detecto Assembly person is responsible for handling all aspects of assembling the Detecto line of scales for the organization. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Preparation and cleaning of product, and packaging and packing into various cartons or crates for transportation. Labeling, shipping, and labor reporting documentation. Use of equipment to staple, skin-wrap, and strap packaging to ensure safe transportation. Calibration and final accuracy testing of scales. Assembly of components and sub-assemblies of various types of scales. Assembly of complete scales, or other positions on the assembly line. Fill cavities with hot lead, or lead shot to reach specified weight. Assemble and seal scale poises and counterweights. Mark scale parts or accessories using screen-printing equipment. Competencies Good verbal, and written communication. Basic Mathematics skills and ability to accurately use/read a tape measure. Initiative and ethical conduct. Safety Conscious and Teamwork Orientation. Personal Effectiveness/Credibility Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education and Experience Two (2) years of factory/manufacturing experience or assembly line work. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1st shift- 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
