A Plating Machine Operator operates and maintains plating or coating machines, including electrolyte processes, to coat metal or plastic products with chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel, or other metal to protect or decorate surfaces.

Purpose of Role:
The Shotblast Operator is responsible for checking the hardness of castings and ensure they meet the Manufacturing and Inspection Instructions (MII) requirements. The operator must directly follow MII and/or work instructions to correctly load parts and is responsible for quarantining parts that require weld repair. The operator is responsible for safely loading and removing manually or using proper equipment/aid. Operator will also be required to visually inspect each casting for obvious defects and separate by pattern and part. The operator may be asked to perform other jobs within or outside the department.
