Job Description The Special Events - Work Crew - 2 position primarily assists in the setup and breakdown of Biltmore events such as illumination, concerts, exhibitions, corporate events etc. during peak event seasons to help create a world class experience for guests. Duties include, but are not limited to landscape & structure illumination, equipment delivery and setup, loading and unloading trucks, warehouse maintenance, and exhibition setup/strike/maintenance. Position may also provide general assistance and support to the department, leadership, and the company as required
Essential Job Duties:
1. All that are detailed in and for Special Events Crew 1, and … 2. Properly and safely operate a box truck. 3. Provide friendly, professional service to internal customers and guests. 4. Setup rental equipment and test/ensure quality matches company expectations upon arrival. 5. Must be able to understand and execute direction given from a workorder, email, phone, etc. 6. Rigging items that are 25lbs and under such as small chandeliers, bistro lighting, and other decor. 7. Running and connecting power requirements up to 20 amps. 8. Safely operate a warehouse forklift. 9. Safely operate a scissor and/or boom lift (single basket) up to a 30' electric machine
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred. 2. At least one (1) year of prior experience working with event and/or exhibit set up and illumination preferred. 3. Demonstrated commitment to providing world class internal/external guest service. 4. Solid interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; must be able to convey information clearly and concisely. 5. Excellent attention to detail with focus on quality, service, and safety. 6. Strong time management and organizational skills; can multi-task and adapt as required. 7. Ability to take direction and understand and execute instructions successfully. 8. Proactive, and exercises good judgment; can troubleshoot as needed. 9. Can operate effectively in an intense and dynamic guest service environment, and respond/interact with guests and vendors in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards. 10. Maintain a valid driver's license and must be at least 19 years of age
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on a regular basis with assistance. 2. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time. 3. Ability to climb, and work from, ladders, lifts, stairs, and/or scaffolding. Must be able to work for extended periods of time from elevated heights. 4. Ability to reach overhead, bend and squat/kneel often. 5. Ability to work effectively (indoors and outdoors) with exposure to dust, dirt, foul odors, extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions, using the proper safety and protective equipment.
