Job Description
The Material Sorter plays a key role in our recycling operations by sorting and processing incoming recyclable plastic materials. This position ensures that materials are properly identified, separated, and processed to support efficient production and maintain quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect, identify, and sort incoming plastic materials according to type and quality. Process raw materials using hydraulic equipment or by hand. Remove contaminants and non-recyclable items from material streams to maintain product standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times. Follow plant safety procedures, including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with machine feeding, baling, or grinding operations as needed. Report equipment issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly. Participate in team meetings, safety training, and process improvement discussions. #VRS RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS
High School Diploma, GED, or formal vocational training. 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3+ years' experience operating a forklift.RECOMMENDED SKILLS
Proficiency with manufacturing procedures and policies. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff. Strong attention to detail.
