POSITION OVERVIEW
Must perform certain preventive maintenance responsibilities as well as daily repair work on knitting machines and doffs. Technicians are to perform daily technical machine checks. Must inspect fabric, looking at doff head and rolling out on doff table as required by specific styles.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and predictable attendance Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on assigned knit machines in compliance with the PM schedule Assist in troubleshooting and repair of machines in production as needed Perform style changes as assigned by Planning Department Perform machine oiling as required Perform maintenance as required, such as reneedle, flush, and various machine repairs Change the mechanical setting of a Knitting machine to produce fabric as needed for specific customer orders Develop machine specifications to deliver desired products based on development guidelines and input from internal and external sources. This may require experimentation and multiple set up attempts to achieve desired fabric properties and stable machine performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 2
years of experience on circular knit machines or equivalent Certified knitter preferred Knit Machine set up and troubleshooting knowledge Thorough understanding of knitting process and how machine adjustments interact to affect fabric properties

Knit Machine Mechanical Fixing Knowledge/ Experience
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems Must be able to read and understand knit specification sheets. Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Able to work well with various groups of people such as vendors, customers, Milliken associates whether individually or in a team environment Able to work well and communicate with production associates in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting Able to lift and move objects of up to 50 pounds

 Ability to walk upstairs, climb ladders, climb on knit machine step boards (approx. 11•14") 35% of day
Push/Pull/Reach:
Ability to push/pull fabric rolls, Boxes (approx. 50-150 lbs) 15% of day
Bending:
Ability to pick up objects from the floor 25% of day
Visual Acuity:
Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. 100% of day 9.
Cognitive:
Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand information. 100% of day
WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION
This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud.
SHIFT/WORK HOURS
Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands. 1st
Shift:
8 AM•4 PM or 8 AM•6 PM 2nd 
Shift:
4 PM•12 AM (Midnight) 3rd
