A Saw Operator operates and maintains a machine saw (such as an adjustable circular saw) to perform such operations as ripsawing, cross cutting, beveling, grooving, and mitering. Maybe responsible for tool set-up for different types of cut or for different material to be cut.
Performs all duties required to manufacture roof/floor trusses and wall panels on the shop floor.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
Responsible for material handling of lumber and truss plates Cuts lumber per shop drawings Sets jig templates and truss geometry per shop drawings Assembles parts to produce trusses per shop drawings Stacks and bands finished goods per order Conforms to all safety requirements while working in the shop Keeps the shop work area clean Performs other duties, as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements :
Comfortable using the following equipment: Forklift; Skill saw; Miter saw; Component saw; Linear saw; Tape measure; Hammer; Wrench for jig hardware Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and tolerances Ability to build to manufacturing specifications and tolerances
Education/Experience :
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
