Job Description

Job Summary The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber, CO₂, or similar) Load and unload raw materials and finished parts Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders Select appropriate programs, cutting parameters, and materials Monitor machine operation and adjust settings as needed Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure accuracy Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting Maintain accurate production records Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Keep work area clean and organized Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience operating laser cutting equipment or CNC machinery Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings Basic math and measurement skills Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials Preferred Qualifications CNC programming or editing experience Experience with metal fabrication and sheet metal processing Knowledge of different metals and cutting techniques Familiarity with quality standards (ISO, AS9100, etc.) Forklift or overhead crane certification Working Conditions Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment Exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery Use of lasers, sharp metal, and heavy materials Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Visual acuity for precision inspection
Pay:
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
