Job Description
Extrusion Machine Operator Monday-Wednesday schedule / OT on Thursdays as needed (7pm-7am) Pay starting at $20/hr We are looking for an experienced Extrusion Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you'll set up, operate, and monitor extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic products aligned with production standards. You'll be responsible for loading materials, adjusting machine settings, inspecting finished products, and keeping equipment running efficiently. This is a hands-on role in a clean, organized manufacturing environment where attention to detail and quality are key. Responsibilities Set up extrusion machines based on production requirements Operate and monitor equipment to ensure consistent output and efficiency Load raw materials safely and accurately into machines Adjust temperature, speed, and pressure settings for optimal performance Inspect finished products for quality, dimensions, and defects Troubleshoot minor equipment issues to minimize downtime Record production data and maintain accurate documentation Follow all safety and quality guidelines Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant Support changeovers, material handling, and other production needs Qualifications Minimum 2 years of machine operating experience in manufacturing Experience with extrusion or similar production equipment preferred Ability to make minor machine adjustments and repairs Ability to read a tape measure accurately Familiar with blueprints or production specifications Strong attention to detail and quality Committed to safety and following procedures Comfortable maintaining production records Additional Skills Extrusion or plastics manufacturing experience is a plus Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Strong organization and housekeeping habits Team-oriented with willingness to assist where needed Reliable and flexible with scheduling Why Work Here Clear path to grow your extrusion skillset and increase pay based on performance Hands-on training and development to advance your career Supportive team culture with employee events and engagement Flexibility when you need time off Stable company focused on long-term employee success Work Environment Clean, organized manufacturing facility Not climate controlled — temperatures vary by season Work around extrusion machinery and production equipment Safety-focused environment with strong housekeeping standards Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newton, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
