JOB SUMMARY
: Provides technical support at a basic level, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of facility equipment. Assists with the operation and repair of facility equipment as needed.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Responsible for daily set up and operation of assigned machines, including learning start up and shut down procedures, checklist lists assigned to the operator program, troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues, and maintaining equipment with basic PM's. 2. Complete tear down and set up of production equipment under the direction of maintenance leaders. 3. Complete assigned work orders and maintain documentation of all work performed. 4. Maintain, repair, and replace blades and needles as well as cleaning and sharpening of that equipment. 5. Install and troubleshoot guards, belts, chains, conveyor systems and all other associated equipment. 6. Utilize all manner of hand and power tools, including levels and tape measures. 7. Assist in training of co-workers as directed. 8. Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs. 9. Effectively follow directions of the lead, supervisor, or manager at all times. 10. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 11. Effectively communicate and positively interact with team members in all departments. 12. Attend meetings and trainings as required. 13. Performs other duties as assigned by maintenance superintendent and supervisors.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
MUST have a minimum of 6 months manufacturing machine operator experience. MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties. MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding in a manufacturing setting. MUST have knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages. Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors. Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed. Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position. MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift. MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy. Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits. Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
1. Industrial maintenance experience is preferred, but not required.
