Job Summary Responsible for operating assigned equipment used in executing metal finishing operations by performing the following duties. Roles & Responsibilities Load and unload tote pans of parts, stack parts in baskets, racks and/or barrels, racks, unracks, clean, etch, desmut, pickle, bright-dip dyes, degrease, heat treat, plate, coat, wet process, and dry parts. Use electric hoists and manual lifting.

Follow prescribed procedures for processing.

Fill baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be processed and lower material into the appropriate tank.

Remove parts when the process is completed.

Maintain the cleanliness of tanks and work areas.

Monitor temperature of solutions.

Maintain daily production logs.

Physically inspect processing to ensure quality of product.

May be required to perform general utility work, material handling, assist with chemical handling and solution maintenance, and record keeping as needed.

May be asked to troubleshoot simple to moderate problems.

Is responsible for the quality of the product produced.

Perform other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience High school or general education degree (GED); or equivalent months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities Must have a basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to the job, and the ability to solve problems.
