Job Description

#LI-Skilled-01 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Operator/Machinist to operate various machines, including centerless grinders, long-stroke gun drill machines, and hone machines, to perform assigned tasks. You will produce precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurement tools. A successful operator must possess manual dexterity, an eye for detail, and knowledge of basic mathematics and mechanics, as well as a respect for safety precautions. The goal is to ensure effective production output. Responsibilities Review samples, drawings, and instructions to understand specifications of output. Understand basic shop math and take measurements to ensure compliance with customer specifications. Monitor machines while working to identify issues. Check output to ensure consistency within specifications and detect defects. Perform routine machine maintenance and report minor damage. Required Qualifications Proven experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to use precision tools (e.g., micrometers) to take accurate measurements. Ability to read blueprints and manuals. Proficiency in math with analytical abilities. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship is an asset. Experience with centerless grinding is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of tooling requirements to set up and operate machines in the departments. Familiarity with ISO Quality System, particularly in medical device manufacturing. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to process information in both English and Metric measurement systems, including conversion between the two, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Shift/Schedule 2nd
