Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company Urgently Hiring Packaging Operators on All Shifts in
West Caldwell, NJ Shifts:
1st, 2nd, & 3rd
Shifts Pay:
$22-$24/hour ;
Overtime:
$33-$36/hour

West Caldwell, NJ Job Description The Packaging Operator sets up, operates, and maintains vial filling, fabrication, and secondary packaging equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures products are packaged safely and accurately in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures while maintaining detailed documentation and supporting efficient production flow. Responsibilities Operate vial filling machines, fabrication machines, and secondary packaging equipment, including labeling systems and semi-automatic packaging equipment. Clean, assemble, and set up manufacturing and packaging equipment according to established procedures. Verify that all calibration stickers on equipment are current and take appropriate action if they are not. Record all required information accurately in logbooks, batch records, and other production documentation. Palletize completed work and transport finished goods to the warehouse as needed. Complete downtime logs accurately and in real time, documenting reasons for delays or stoppages. Meet established scrap rate goals by following procedures carefully and monitoring product quality throughout the process. Communicate effectively with in-process control (IPC) operators and other production team members on all issues related to quality, components, and machine performance. Ensure all reconciled labeling materials, such as pouch stock, inserts, shipper labels, and waste, are properly accounted for and documented. Report mechanical issues and other production-related information clearly to incoming and outgoing shifts to support smooth handoffs. Apply knowledge of all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) to daily work and follow them consistently. Perform visual inspections of products and packaging to confirm they meet quality and regulatory requirements. Use basic hand tools and equipment safely to support equipment setup, adjustments, and minor maintenance. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with cleanroom and GMP requirements. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical packaging experience. Demonstrated experience operating vial filling machines, fabrication machines, and secondary packaging equipment, including labeling and semi-automatic packaging systems. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to stand for the majority of the workday. Ability to lift or move 25-49 pounds as part of routine duties. Ability to gown properly for work in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment. Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and complete documentation. Basic mathematics skills to perform counts, reconciliations, and simple calculations. Basic ability to use tools and production equipment safely and effectively. Good manual dexterity to handle small components and operate machinery controls accurately. Strong visual acuity to perform inspections and verify labels, components, and finished goods. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their application in a production environment. Ability to follow and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) consistently. Ability to communicate production, quality, and mechanical issues clearly across shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Caldwell, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
