This position is responsible for processing flat-rolled steel products to customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment and possess strong attention to detail when handling steel products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate steel stretcher and leveler equipment safely and efficiently. Review work orders and customer specifications prior to processing material. Set up and adjust machine parameters to achieve required flatness and dimensional tolerances. Inspect incoming and finished material for quality, defects, and compliance with specifications. Measure material using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Complete production paperwork and quality documentation accurately. Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts (training/certification provided as needed). Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards. Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and material handling activities as required. Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and safety hazards to supervision immediately. Maintain a clean and organized work area. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret work orders and production instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around moving equipment for extended periods. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Commitment to workplace safety. Preferred Previous experience operating steel processing equipment, levelers, stretchers, slitters, or similar machinery. Experience in a steel service center or manufacturing environment. Overhead crane and forklift experience. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to work in varying plant temperatures and conditions. Ability to safely handle steel products and related materials. Must be able to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, and other protective equipment as required. Why Join Camden Yards Steel?
