Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machine Operator specializing in Amada Laser Cutting Machines! In this vital role, you will operate state-of-the-art CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precise sheet metal components that meet quality standards and production deadlines. Responsibilities Set up and operate Amada CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring accurate programming and calibration for each job. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce high-quality sheet metal parts. Utilize CNC programming skills to modify machine parameters and optimize cutting processes for efficiency and precision. Conduct routine inspections of the laser cutting process, including checking tooling, focusing on quality inspection using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, and other fabrication equipment. Perform routine maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot issues promptly, and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs or upgrades. Use hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other mechanical equipment to load raw materials such as sheet metal onto machines or transfer finished parts for assembly or shipping. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving press brake machines, CNC lathes, milling machines, stamping presses, welding stations, and assembly lines. Document production activities accurately through logs and reports; ensure all quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements related to tooling, machining techniques, or safety procedures. Experience MUST have Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines (Amada or Trumpf) or similar fabrication equipment in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in CNC programming languages and G-code interpretation. Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and using precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers. Hands-on experience with various fabrication processes including plasma cutting, welding, machining (CNC milling/lathes), stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Ability to work safely with hand tools, cranes, forklifts (certification preferred), and other heavy machinery while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards. Basic math skills necessary for measuring dimensions accurately and calculating material requirements. Knowledge of sheet metal properties and fabrication techniques essential for producing high-quality components. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection throughout the production cycle. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
